dont just try and make yourself "sound like you can sing." learn how to sing! get a voice teacher to help you learn scales, and find out if you'd like to be a high singer or a lower range singer. you can sing, just keep practicing!!

learn one or two basic songs. if your voice is higher, keep them high, if not, keep them low, because generally a person has a stronger lower voice. Just practice them. don't throw your voice around too much, but a little bit is okay. if you know the songs really well and sing them confidentaly it'll pass off that you can sing well, but at the worst, might've messed up a little bit.

Don't worry about trying to "look" or "sound" like you can sing. If you have the desire, take private voice instruction. Don't risk damaging your voice- let a professional help you.
