On Saturday I am going to a nearby town to do a school choir regional tryouts... We have to sing a song(solo) and a block and contrunptal(or whatever) and a single line sightreading. I just want some tips on how to not be so nervous and make my singing better. If you have anything else worth telling please tell.......Thankyou.

Well, you say to 'make your voice sound better', but if your voice isn't up to scratch at this point, there's not much you can do to change it by Saturday.

Practice, practice, practice!! That is the best advice I can offer. That way, you will feel confident in your voice and with the piece you are performing. Make sure to warm up each day before singing, and warm up before going. Get plenty of sleep the day before your audition, and do not drink or eat anything dairy before your audition!

Make sure you're breathing from your diaphram, not from your chest. Try not to clear your throat excessively often, as that can hurt your vocal chords (it's hard not to do, I'll admit!).

Relax, have fun, and good luck!

practice, but not to the point where it hurts or your voice gets tired. Drink tea if your voice gets scratchy, lots of water too. Don't scream, it kills your vocal chords. Tall vowels!! Diction!! Psyche yourself out, that's what my mom told me for my speech. Just think, these people are here to hear me sing. Don't worry about what they think until afterward. Take it as constructive criticism. Ask questions if you don't understand their advice. Lift your soft palette. Those are all the tips my choir director gives us.
