I'm a Singer, Poet, Writer, actor, Mechanic, Electrician, Plumber, Maintenance, Carpenter, Floor Finisher....ect
Sometimes we don't really see ourselves as we really should when it comes to talent.
I was doing Mechanics at age 26, electronics at age 8, acting at age 21, the list goes on.
If We do not pursue our goals, then we fail yourself and that gets you nowhere when you watch someone else in your spot where you should be.
If your voice is that great; I would record it and then upload it on Garage band and let the People all over the world decide what you got. Who knows you might just get to the top:):)

no, if you dont have the drive or desire for singing, then you probably won't be happy or put your all into making your career happen (it would be a half-hearted attempt). As for sinning, we have free will and I don't see anything Biblically (if thats the kind of sin you're referring to) or otherwise that could possibly say that its a sin.
Some people might have a God given disease, and its not up to them to spread it. I have a singing talent as well, I even have a degree in it. But things get in the way and its very hard (even thought I've also been told I can make it) to start your career. You have to be prepared for setbacks, and even being poor initially, its hard to find gigs and sometimes its all about who you know and timing. Also, I wasnt prepared to give up my chance at having a stable family life. But then again, I'm prepared to take the leap if an opportunity does ever come knocking at my door. Perhaps you can do the same, tell ur mother u wont pursue it but you might explore it if opportunities come knocking...

i think what they are saying is that it is sorryful for them not to be able to hear your voice that they enjoy.
if you can not see yourself as anything other than a professional actor then you are best to keep all of your talents fine tuned. only a very small percentage of professional actors make a decent living at it.
as far as a singing carrier, if you are as good as they say your are you can start paying the bills by singing everywhere they will pay you. as in the wedding singer with drew barrymore. you could hope for a big break on something like american idol or you could write your own songs to set yourself apart for the other hundreds of good singers out there.
but if your true love is acting and you can think of nothing else you need to be where they are shooting lots of movies, usually hollywood. go on lots and lots of extra calls and don't take it personally if they don't choose you, you just didn't have the right look that day for that particular role. you will need a day job until if and when you get your big break. also actors may be called on to dance but if you love acting you know this and have been taking lessons.
if you just want to persue acting cause it sounds like a cool job, i would get a skill and work a day job. then if you want to act in the community theatre or sing at churches on sundays you can do that too.
acting is the easy part. being at the right place at the right time for your big break is something you have to be willing to starve a couple of days a week for months or years for.

I suppose they think that way is because they want more people to be able to enjoy your beautiful golden voice that your voice is a kind of enjoyment for everyone. Many people wish to be singers, hope that they will one day release an album, or even hear the applause for his/her voice from just one person! Since, you have the talent why not use it and at the same time, enjoy it?! People like it, enjoy it, so are you! BUT, if you have another dream or ambition that you want to realise it and you reckon that singing isn't your favourite thing to do, then I think it's best to follow your dream and feelings! All the best for your future endeavours!

I know what you mean, I don't love anything more than music. I feel like I have to do it, I always wanted to pursue music but I realized that having a "Realistic" goal is more attainable than the dream of being in the music business. Considering the fact they give contracts to people for their looks rather than talent, that makes me mad at that aspect of the industry. But still in the back of my mind I know I still want to do something with singing, that's why I am going to try out for American Idol later this year, I look at it this way, If I don't atleast try it, how will I know how far I could have gone? God gives everyone talents even if you sing in the car or shower atleast your doing it, you could be singing for Him, I think that's all that matters.

If you don't want to sing you shouldn't make a career out of it.
It's just the way the world works. Some people are very talented at A, but they like B. Nothing wrong with that.

whilst i grow to be youthful I bear in mind thinking the comparable element because of the myth approximately skills. yet in that passage, skills refers to a variety of money and has a thoroughly diverse which skill. The Bible does especially talk on religious presents in a million Corinthians 12 ..understanding, awareness, faith, prophecy, healing, and so on. i've got self assurance if a man or woman gets any of those presents upon salvation that they are able to have a demanding time no longer utilising them. working example, if a man or woman is given the present of awareness or understanding, they have awareness or understanding, era. so some distance as worldly skills go, like making a music or writing, i do no longer think of that's a sin to no longer pursue a profession in them. Writing is a skills as much as athleticism is. the comparable with making a music and coaching. you won't be able to do each and everything.

Even if you sing to yourself it's still using your talent and is fulfilling because your expressing yourself.
Or you may want to get involved in a church since there's not all that pressure of competition (n the beginning, you know getting used to performing ect.)
You do not necessarily need to perform anyway to express your talents.
I think you need to do what makes you happy in life, not what other's think you ought to do.
Folks used to always tell me to be a model and also to become a painter.
Well I tried modeling and didn't like it in a lot of ways (it was too superficial for me personally, yuk.) and anyway went to college majoring in commercial art. I was always the top 1% in most of my art classes. So artistically speaking, it's a fortune to be gifted in some way, but you still have to do what is "calling" you to do. Painting only calls me spiritually from time to time, but not professionally. I like to do what I want to do, when to do it, when it comes to art.
On the other hand, perhaps some day you will want to try out singing......you do not have to do this like RIGHT AWAY~you know what I mean?
It's a challenge being multi-talented and can be very very stressful at times because your not sure which one to use next. I feel that you may be going through something like this. Just concentrate on your main interest #1. #2, focus on another talent time to time. You;'ll figure it out :o)

Don't do it unless you love it. But see WHY you don't want to do it anymore. Maybe it's because people are pushing you to do it. Some parents want you to do things because they wanted to and couldn't, but you are not them. Singing exercises help with your voice for acting, but that doesn't necessarily mean singing in public. When you are young, try many different things. It would be good to keep practicing, just in case you decide to go back to it though. Soulful means you sing with deep emotion.

Yes it is a sin because God gave you that talent for a reason. When He gave it to you, the reason why was to glorify Him and when you refuse to use it at all, you make it out to be your talent instead of it being given to you. Read in the New Testament about the talents. The lord condemned the worker who hid his talent in the earth because that worker wasted his by not developing it. When God gives it to you, He can also take it away if you won't use it for His glory. If I were you, I would do it because it is His to begin with and He might take it away if you won't.
I'm a singer too
