Go to YOUTUBE and search for magic tricks and there are some really amazing illusions that explain how to do them step by step, visually!

step one: get a hat, a piece of paper and 3 pens
step two: take a regular sheet of computer paper and rip it into 3 parts straight down like when you hold up the paper so its long going down, u just rip rip it going down into three parts.
step three: get four volunteers
step four: give 3 of ur volunteers each a pen and a piece of a piece of paper
step five: notice, that of the three rips, the piece that was in the middle of the page now has both sides crooked, bwhile the other two have one smooth and one crooked side.
step 6: ask two of the people (the ppl who got the two outer sides) to write an even number and one person (the person who got the piece with both sides crooked)to write an odd number on their piece then ask them to put their pieces in the hat
step 7: ask ur 4th volunteer to hold up the hat high ebough so u cant see it, but low enough so that u can reach into it
step *: tell ppl that you will reach in and tell ppl that you will pullout the odd number without looking
step 9: when u reach into the hat, feel for the piece with 2 crooked sides, this one is the odd number.

mind read a friend (who is in on it) to wow an audience.
1. mind reader leaves or turns around while a number is revealed to the friend
2. mind reader stands behind friend and places fingers just above friends jaw (slightly above and below bottom of ear)
3. friend bites teeth together with mouth closed, number of times to reveal number to mind reader (who can feel it w/finger tips)
4. mind reader adds some flourish/trance act or magic words if desired and confidently announce the number
practice in front of mirror to be sure it's done so people don't see facial movement of friend when biting down
can come up with code for card suits/face cards to enhance game to guessing cards

You can do this at bars to get free drinks! It's called Stigmata. Listen attentively to someone's conversation (a stranger) and listen for their name. Go to the bathroom and with a Q-Tip, write their name with liquid hand soap on your forearm. Go up to the person and introduce yourself. Tell them that if you can make their name appear on you arm, they have to buy you a drink. Instruct them to write their name on a piece of paper and to burn in with a cigarette lighter. Grab the ashes from the paper and rub it on the arm that you wrote their name on with soap. Name shall now appear! Tada! lol

Get a quarter, and hold it in one hand between your thumb and index finger --- make sure your palm is face up. Get your other hand and fake grab it (drop the quarter on your palm as you fake grab it). Do it right and it really looks like it should be in your grabbing hand. I've only ever done it with kids, but they usually love it.

I don't know exactly how, but for some reason I get my pay check on Fridays I make it disappears in one weekend.
