so during the summer of 2006, i used to goto the karaoke alot. i enjoyed it, it was a hobby. i was able to sing very high and very well. (ima guy btw.) and after summer, ive been busy and wasnt able to sing much. slowly ive notice myself not being able to sing as high and as well as i was able to in summer. and about 2 weeks ago i was sick and my voice was out. im all better now and ive managed myself to hit the karaoke again and i wasnt able to get close to going high. a friend of mine told me to yell really loud and i would be able to sound squeaky and high. well i honestly though it wasnt much of a good idea so i didnt try untill i got other people opinion. is this a good idea? how else can i retrieve my voice back?

well how old are you. maybe your just growing and your voice is deeper. you don't have to sing "high" you just have to hit the notes at the best spot of your voice. try using your mid tones instead of using your head voice.

You're just out of practice.

This will be boring but try singing some scales, going up note by note. C, D, E, and stretch yourself. Don't kill yourself. Just keep singing higher up in your range, and being gentle about it, and your voice will come back.

Yelling really loud will sound terrible and could damage your voice. You know how when you come back to school after summer break, you review what you did last year before you move on? That's basically what you need to do.

Could be lack of use. But your voice could have "dropped." Mine did about last year, when I started doing newscasts daily. Both men and women have that happen (I'm female,) and in my case, the change was pretty noticeable. I've had to redo airchecks, demos, everything because of that. I do also have hormonal imbalances and deficiencies (GHD,) so that may have factored into it a great deal.

You may have to relearn everything, so a good voice teacher is a good idea. I had to learn where my higher and lower limits had moved, and what kind of mic to use when on air.

i think of i be responsive to what you mean. The voice i think of with in my techniques isn't something like how i sound as quickly as I record my out loud voice. Its basically as a results of fact we've extra effective administration over our psychological voice, i mean i'm able to play a track off television in my techniques soo it sounds precisely the comparable too me, yet whilst i attempted too sing it out loud it wouldnt

NO dont scream. You are best to sing in your speaking voice. If you dont sing for a while, your voice becomes untrained, and you need to retrain it. One thing you might be doing when you sing high is lifting your larnyx-check it out. When you sing with your larnyx up, you are hurting your voice. So keep it down, sing in your speaking voice, and have fun.

If you haven't sang for awhile you will have to exercise your voice to get this back . Drink citirs juices when you do this it will help . Also if you smoke that will not help either but you can get back to where you used to be . It will take a month but ifyou practice every night you will be there . Take challanging songs and sing to these songs every day .

Practice, if your voice changed due to being sick you need to basically relearn how to sing, practice scales vocal warmups and then practice songs, don't sing over your limit that can make it worse

A) You need a voice coach.
B) you need to warm up and practice!
C) Your voice is changing and it'll take a while for you to adjust to your voice.

It seems like I am saying what other ppl have said.
But its really the truth!
Don't give up though!
