sing for a group of people and have them take a majority vote.

record yourself singing then listen to it and see what you think.. you sound totally different to other people than you sound to yourself.. so a recording of you will show you what you really sound like.

To be a good singer, naturally you'll have to have good music ability. The best way to test this is to listen to a song and when they sing a harmony (you know, when 2 or more singers are singing at the same time with 2 or more different notes) try to hear all the notes that are being sung. If you can do that, then you're on to level 2. Level 2 comes in trying to make your own harmonies. To do this, get a microphone for your computer (if you don't have one already) and record yourself singing a melody. Any melody will do, but as an example, I'll choose mary had a little lamb. A very simple melody. Now, see if you can harmonize those notes. To be able to harmonize all depends on how good your ear is. But if you are able to harmonize and it sounds good (and trust me, you'll know if it souds good or not) you're on to step three. Step three is vibrato, which means bending notes to create accent. If you can do a vibrato, harmonize, and be able to hear individual notes in harmonies, then maybe you're a good singer. But you also have to keep the tone of your voice in mind too. For example, how would Alica Keys sound if she sung real quiet? Probably like crap right? She sounds best when shes belting out those tunes at the top of her lungs. But you could also say the same thing about someone who sounds better with a quiet voice.

Hope this helps.

You don't "find out" you're a good singer, you become one. Probably you're between the ages of 13 and 16 right now, and you're filled with questions of who you are and what your identity is... and there's a frustration and concern because you feel like you don't really have a strong identity, like whether you should be a musician, or be a actress, or a doctor, or something like that. But it's alright. People just aren't any of these things, they wake up one day to find that they have spent their lives becoming that.

How do you become a good singer? You sing a lot, and you spend your time with people who know music more than you. Take music classes at school, join a church choir, try to do any music thing you can find... and one day you'll wake up to notice that it's not you trying to hang around other musicians, it's other people trying to hang around you because you've become such a good singer.

I'm a music teacher and told my kids today about Pavoratti, one of the most famous opera singers of all time. He says he's got probably about 1,000 songs memorized that he could sing right now, and with some brushing up, many many more. He's considered one of the best singers, but anybody who as memorized a 1,000 songs is also someone who is enormously dedicated to music. Dedicate you're self to the things you admire, and you will become those things.

If you are a little shy then wait till no one else is home. Put on one of your favorite songs to sing. Find a recording device. Put on the head phones and sing while you record yourself. Take off the headphones when you are done and listen. Don't be too discouraged if you don't sound like you the song. If you are not up to snuff you can always improve with practice!
You have the desire to sing ... so sing.

You could also try karoke!
I wish you well , Mr. G.

The best way to find out if your a good singer is to find someone at your local theater, choir, school, etc. and have them give you the advice you are looking for. Don't worry if they do or don't give you the answer you want. Just keep trying and practicing and you'll get there.

Record yourself and also allow people around you to hear you sometimes. If you're really good they will let you know.
