for our wedding i was the first dance to be romantic but sexy. not just a slow dance. i want to do either the tango, salsa, foxtrot, paso doble or any others of that kind. Whats the difference in those dances? which one is the most romantic and sexy? Do you think that a dance studio would teach us an exact dance I loved on dancing with the stars?

thanks!

I know the obvious answer would be doing splits and whatnot a few times of day, but I was wondering if you had any really effective tips that would help?

Once upon a time I was a talented young ballet dancer who could have gone into any company she wanted. After struggling for years with anorexia I decided to stop dancing.
Now it has been nearly two and a half years since I have taken a class and I really want to return to the dance world.
The only thing is that I am scared to death and I have no idea how to begin getting back into shape.....Is it really as simple as just taking one class at a time?

Also one of them is jelous of me and my friend doing a pointe duet for compitation (sorry if its spelled wrong)

I'm a fairly young adult (27) and I enjoyed finally having the chance to learn ballet and hip hop while in college. I am hoping to start taking dance classes again in the future. I have no ambitions to be a professional dancer--just want to dance for the shear fun of it. For those who started dance a bit later on in life, what have been your experiences?

I was wondering why guys can jump higher than girls. If you have ever watched so you think you can dance you will notice that they have such higher leaps than the girls.

i personally do, because i have been doing ballet for over 10 years, and dancing is way harder than football.

what do you think and why?

I am a tribal fusion bellydancer. In my training I have learned several different kinds of turns. Including types influenced by flamenco, algerian/moroccan/north african dance, american tribal bellydance (ats) and katahk (classical indian). I have had previous training in ballet/classical style turns (very little).

I pride myself in my different kinds of turns and how many and how fast I can do them during dancing-but i have one problem. I always, always get super nauseous and dizzy after.

I would like to start improving my banjara style barrel turns, which im sure will make me even MORE dizzy after.
How do I not only use technique to help this problem, but is there anything I can eat or drink before I dance to help?

I asked this question in the fitness section but maybe I will get more help in this section.Ok well I have the dancing twins DVD, and I have been using it and I am seeing some really good results. I have lost a lot of weight and I do have a more toned shaply body as the DVD said I would. But I still have my problem area which is my inner thighs. They have gone down, but not as much as my stomach and arms. Any suggestion? Thanks

I am trying to figure out the name and artist of the song that shane sparks did a choreography round to, during vegas week. The only line I can remember is something like " let it burn" and its not burn by usher.

I am a figure skater. I just wanted to know what the "dance world" thought about the "skating world" . . . our body positions and music interpretation.

In ballet - for instance, your "arabesque" is our "spiral". I've heard of ballet dancers cringing at our spirals. In skating, some do lift their hip up, keep their upper back or head down (sometimes close to the ice) - it's undesirable in ballet, but considered "beautiful" on the ice.

Ballroom - In ice dancing, our "footsteps" are nearly completely off from floor steps, though it is still about keeping tempo/mood and patterns.

As they say, they are 2 completely different worlds - though some things will be similar, some things will be VERY different - and it's not wrong. But hey, everyone is entitled to their opinions - so I'd like to hear them!!!

Ok, if you can provide me ANY help/advice/suggestions, I'd appreciate it. When I bend foward for any amount of time, my whole lower back tenses up painfully and will only be released if I arch my back the other way for awhile. Additionally, when I sit in a straddle, I get a sharp pain in the middle of my lumbar spine (I know it is muscular because it is eased by heat). In almost any sitting position, I CANNOT get on my sitz bones, especially without contracting my hip flexors. Contractions in modern hurt a lot, as do foward bends.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what is going on, or advice on how to ease the pain without stopping dancing? Any stretches/strengthening I can do? This is a serious problem for me and any input is appreciated.

My hamstrings are fairly loose already but I want them to be really loose so I can have really high kicks and good ponches (pronounced ponchay) and such. Also if you have any tips for having higher leaps please share. Thanxx in advance♥♥♥
