i started ballet classes ( one per week) about 4 months ago, and found myself to be so inflexible it was almost like a joke. i still cant get past about a 90* angle when i do the splits to the side, but after less than 2 weeks of stretching i could do the splits to the front on both legs. i also have found that, although i have never stretched to do this or anything, i can put my legs out infront of me and lie down on them, tummy and all and touch my toes or whatever with no difficulty at all. when im standing in 1st, 2nd, or any other position of the feet, i can easily do a 180 degree turnout. infact, occasionally, i have to watch myself and make sure i dont overturn.
anyway, im not just bragging but as i am a very non athletic person, and ive never done dance before, is this very unusual, common or just lucky? i have always been very inflexible, but with the exception of the splits a la seconde i suddenly find girls in my class asking what i do to get so flexible? what have i done??
