I'm looking for popular songs to do rumba, swing (not jive or west-coast swing, just good plain american swing), foxtrot, and waltz to that I might have already on albums or on my computer.

Basically anything by mainstream artists that work well with those dances.

Thanks!!

I'm entering a Latin Ballroom dancing competition. I'm not new to competing, but the regular partner I've had for years now broke his leg and he won't be ready for the competition. We started dancing together because we were good friends already through the dance studio. I've never had to find my own partner. If anyone has tips on the best way to find highly qualified partners to audition that would be great. The rest of the people at my dance studio either have partners or aren't ready for my division. What's the best way to "advertise" for a partner where I could get a lot of responses? I'm fairly confident I could audition them and figure out if they're really good. I just need them to come :)

Hi, I teach asian dance in schools mainly primary schools, its a fun and good way to exercise to the upbeat music.
Recently I was offered the chance of teaching at a secondary school, which is also a performing arts school I have done 2 sessions there but it's not going as well as I would have liked.
I am not a trained dancer and have never choreographed routines etc....they are expecting me to teach a routine to students and they have to perform to and part of the marks go towards their GCSE marks. I have definately bitten off more than I can chew.
I know its not going well and the agency I work for want to speak to me later today about it....I am dreading the call...should I calm down and just see what happens? or am I right to be upset before being given the bad news.
Dance is a very important part of my life and its a part of who I am...thats why this is affecting me this way.

I'm so excited I got my husband to take ballroom lessons with me! I found a place that offers group lessons, but they don't start until January.
Which dvds are good to get started at home? Also, any good rule books? They have a few competitions around here for adults of all levels and I would love to try one out in the future, I just need to know what all is involved in getting started.
I live in Atlanta if anyone has specific tips for that...
Thanks :)

I am 5'1" only, my dance partner is 6'1", so even if I wear heels, I am still much shorter than him. We are thinking of taking argentine tango lesson together. Would it look really weird when we dance together? Sould I find someone who is closer to my height?

i am 15 and i stretch every day during ballet class and i usually stretch when i get home too. i have been able to do a full split on both sides for a few years but my side splits are horrible! i have been trying for a long time to get them down and i stretch them a lot. my teacher told us that we stop being able to get more flexible when we are 14. is this true?
