It is hard to say that traditional dancing will be popular comparing to the hot numbers coming up now. Youngsters are actually enjoying them more. As the generation grows, there will be less old people to appreciate the traditional dance. However, traditional dance will never die off as it has culture in it.

i still remember when there was only one channel in India [ black and white ] door darshan . as soon as a dance program were announced like bharat natyam or kuchipudi people use to curse $#!!~ and switch off their tv . it is still true today .if you were to distribute free passes for a dance program like bharat natyam and kuchipudi or some thing similler and count the number of people in the auditorium you will be able to gauge the popularity of traditional dance...the future is bleak

traditional dancing is now not so popular but its a prestigious form of dancing there is no valgarity, no sex , no loud. its too sweet and simple. as compare to india its muchmore popular in abroad. one thing isay that its popular but nd future its famous...

YES OF COURSE. COMPARED TO PAST 5 YERS POPULARITY OF TRADITIONAL DANCES HAVE BEEN INCREASED. NOW A DAYS , IN MOST OF THE SCHOOLS A TRADITIONAL DANCE CLASS ARE BEEN THERE & IT IS MADE COMPULSORY TO ALL THE STUDENTS.
TRADITIONAL DANCES SHOULD BE ENCOURAGED NOT ONLY IN CERTAIN AREAS BUT ALL OVER INDIA .
I AM A TRADITIONAL BHARATHANATYA DANCER ,I AM LEARNING FROM 7YEARS . IT IS VERY GOOD EXERCISE TOO IT IMMPROVES YOUR POSTURES IT BUILDS CONFIDENCE IN YOU .EXAMLPLE IS MYSELF .EVEN YOU CAN TRY IT.. AFTERALL ITS OUR TRADITION
