How old is the oldest performing ballerina, and how young did one start? Just to know my limits in age (im thirteen).

i would need to know pro or just pointe class ussally u have to be at least 12 yrs old and 6 years of ballet if pro ashlee simpson went pro ballerina and she was 12-13ish hope i helped!

About a month ago I went and saw The Nutcracker put on by the Australian Ballet. They had students from the Aussie Ballet in it and they were 11-13 years old I'm pretty sure. It was about a 2 week run and they had 2 different casts. That would of been the best thing for them though :)
Steven Heathcote was in it as well-he was 43 when he did it!!! And he was a Principal Artist for the Australian Ballet but he just retired.....

ballerina's age anything from 3 years (usually) and 40 years ( that's proffesional) , most great ballerina's of the 16th,17th and 18th century started when they were about your age it really depends on you ,if you are ready for all the training etc.
But you are definately not too old.

Maya Plisetskaya was born in 1925, first performed on stage of Bolshoi Theatre when she was 11 years old, and her last performance on stage was in 1990. She is teaching now as far as I know. That's pretty amazing.

I have heard that Ashlee Simpson was in ABT when she was 11,but I am not sure.Usually they join a company when they are about 15 and retire by30.

im 12. ive taken dance seince i was 2. i do ballt, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, POINTE and im also on a dance team.
