If you like ballet, don't worry what your friends think. Ballet isn't too mature for anyone. It wasn't too mature for you 11 years ago, was it? So don't let peer pressure take something beautiful out of your life. Don't leave it unless you personally are sick of it. Ballet is eternal.

As a dance teacher and the coordinator of a dancing school, I get alot of questions from hopeful students who are afraid they are too old or too young to dance. I think that if your spirit goes towards ballet and that's what you love doing, then you are just perfect for it. You should never stop doing something because of something someone else says. Your friends should be more supportive though. Just tell them that ballet is your thing and that you enjoy it. If your heart is in it, never give it up for anything.

so if you stop now and wait till you're mature enough (like say 18 years old) you will most probably forget alot and your body will become unused to ballet dancing then you have to start all over again and half of the 11 years become wasted.
anyways dance is a lifestyle. It doesn't matter if you're old enough or not cos it makes you looks graceful and mature which is a good thing.

Ballet dancers are "YOUNG" and they finish their careers when they are still in their 20's so obviously your friends do not know what the word Mature means. The only way to have good turnout is to begin ballet when you are young and the more you practice the better you will be and the better form you will have. If you love ballet, then do not give it up...your friends can practice their hip hop while you practice your Pliés.

Do not listen to what your friends say because you are totally not to mature to do ballet. If this is something you love and you want to pursue it, then you should go for it. Why would ballet be too mature?

No way. I'm 16 and I've been doing it for 11 years. If you love ballet, keep with it no matter what your friends say.

No, you are so lucky that you started at an early age. Keep dancing and you may discover other dances that will benefit greatly because of those years in Ballet. The best ballroom dancers I know started with ballet when they were children and they have the best frame from all those years of dance. Keep it up.

Don't stop. If you enjoy it so much, keep dancing.
I'm 17 and I take tap, jazz, and ballet classes. My friends respect that I've been doing dance for years. Dance is just something that makes you unique in your circle of friends.
If you're really good, you can get a college scholarship or even start a carreer in ballet.

If you like it, there is no reason to stop. I certainly don't see anything wrong with someone 15 doing ballet. (Then again, I was.) You're friends may think that it isn't right but most adults probably envy what you do, and if your friends ever realize how hard it is, they probably would as well. Maybe they're just jealous ;-)
