I asked this question in the fitness section but maybe I will get more help in this section.Ok well I have the dancing twins DVD, and I have been using it and I am seeing some really good results. I have lost a lot of weight and I do have a more toned shaply body as the DVD said I would. But I still have my problem area which is my inner thighs. They have gone down, but not as much as my stomach and arms. Any suggestion? Thanks

shimmy shimmy shimmy. it is the movement of tucking your pelvis up and moving your knees back and forth very quickly. only slightly move them. this will BURN your thigh fat away! good luck. oh, tighten that butt up while you do it too!

As a fellow bellydancer of about 10 years, I agree with the above... pilates and yoga are great! Another cool move that will burn those inner thighs is to bend the knees, rest your elbows just above the knees (bent over). Make sure your legs are about hip width apart with the toes forward.
Then, using only your legs to do this, move your butt up and down quickly and controlled for 24 counts. You will feel a difference.
I make my students do this one after doing squats. Yes, squats help too.

Carrie, i am a belly dance trainer and i think i can help you/

Really, your problem isn`t difficult. All you need is to dance Jive, but you must dance it professionally. I mean, that in Jive you need to lift up your thighs, after every step, till you get 90 degrees with your body. Look it at your DVD, and you will understand what i`m talking about.

Oh, of course: if you will dance quickly and with partner, you will get much more fun....

Have a luck!

Most dancers that I know incorporate some pilates and/or yoga into their workouts. Pilates is great for dancers since it helps you build long, lean muscle. It doesn't give you bulky muscles. It also helps you be more graceful.
