Dancing (Arts & Humanities)

I'm taking a community college tap dance class and I wasn't sure what to wear to the first class. I already bought some tap shoes, but I don't know if I should wear jazz pants, or a leotard and tights, or something else?

It's a beginning/intermediate class and I just didn't want to show up in something silly looking becuase I've never taken a dance class before. Thank you!

I just wanna tell you that when you answered about what a ballet dancer gets on payment per dance, you tell me to change a career when its none of your business. You are on the other side of the globe and don't know sh*t about my life. I wanna ya'll to know that when someones asks a question, it to be answered. NOt corrected or for someone to give me a whole lecture on how to live my life! By the way, JANIE_RS: I am 13, have school work and live in a town where blondes are not happily thought of by Asians, so its hard to get into a dance school. I have flexibility, coordination, and a heart for dancing and thats all I need and I don't need you to ruin my dream and tell me what to do. Whoever else is reading this, learn from it and understand that you have to mind your own bizwax. Only talk like this when someone specificly asks you for a life's thing, not on some simple question that you don't respect and annoy me with!

Would you rather be a perfect dancer with a horrible memory or a OK dancer with a excellent memory?

If you had a horrible memory you could not remember any dance moves but if you had a excellent memory you could remember all of them.

Stretches and exercising for dancers?

I stretch every morning, but is there a special area I should concentrate on as a dancer? And are there excercises I should do? Should I do the usual crunches and push-ups and what-not? What do you suggest?

I am required to do some dance things in my dance audition. My bf said you don't need music but is that true?

SOme ppl said a dance audition doesn't require chreography but mine does and my other friend said you didn;t need music. I am just wondering because I already have a dance and I cannot afford to re-do it for some music piece when my dance is in 2 weeks. IS it neccesary to have music? Would it ruin my audition if I dind't have any? HELP

What is the best thing to wear to a ballet dance audtion. The lady said you had to have black shorty pants....

I want to look more slender even though I am quite slim already. Will a leotard with thin black pants under (kinda like thick tights) do with maybe a small skirt or just the leotard and "pants." Thanks.
PS. You may notice a girl who is always asking of dance auditions and thats me. I am just so excited and nervous. I want to do my best and want to get in. I love dance a I know ballet is a good step for doing other modern dances that I have already done...WISH ME LUCK...OR PRAY:)
