I am new to dancing and am trying to join a competition dance studio next year. I am a fast learner and I would like to learn as much as I can this summer. I plan on going to a dance camp for a week, but other than that I'm not sure how I can catch up as far as skill in tap and ballet. Any advice or ideas?

I'm 15 and I'm going into my 2nd year of ballet. I want to join a competition dance academy but it's very expensive. I would also like to go to a dance camp over the summer (also very expensive) I found a few memorial scholarships before... but I can't seem to find them. Are there any scholarships you know of that could help me? Either based on financial need, essay contests or anything else.

This would be best answered by dancers, dance judges, or anyone experienced in ballet dance:
1. I need to know how long my dance performance for the audition should last.
2. What is the average stertching capabilities needed to enter a hometown dance school.
3. What are the musicals or dance movies that I can watch to learn beautiful and simple ballet dance moves.
PS. The dance school I am auditioning in is not "Julliard" or anything. I have had 3 years of ballet experienced but as a small child, I do not remember anything in terms of chreography. And I need these answers as quick as possible and thank you very much.

I am doing some weekly based bally dance course in Australia recently, I wanna explore my knowledge and learn the dance more intensively like everyday full time for at least a few months. Or, any other countries having such kind of performing academy? Thanks!!

I dance very well. Enough to have had hundreds of people compliment me on the way I dance and be absolutely amazed by my talent. My boyfriend comes along and says that I should tone down my moves because only 75% of what I do looks good. He says that his friends call me the dancing queen and that it is not meant as a compliment. I think that if you are at a dance club, you need to loosen up and if you won't dance yourself, then loosen up when it comes to the self expression and talent of others. I thought that they sounded like haters. I feel that my boyfriend should be complimneting me most of all about the things I do well. Not trying to bring my ego down a few notches.

I guess I should elaborate on the fact that many people are amazed on how well I dance because they tell me so. Not that I need thy'er approval, but it just confirms the fact that I do very well on the dance floor. I have danced for years. I don't need a reality check folks.
