The key is to stretch everyday. I try to find time, if not i'll do random stretches while working, or waiting on line etc.
It's true yoga and pilates are great, but you can totally become more flexible by repetition. Hold each stretch for at least 30 seconds.

Make the time everyday to stretch. Do your splits as far down as you can go and bounce. Also lifting each leg as high as it will go and trying to stretch it a little further. Do these exercises every day and in about a month or so you should be able to do splits and be very flexible.

Again, Yoga. Pick a specialized long-established yoga studio, not a gym with yoga classes. I favor the traditional Iyengar Yoga, not power yoga, not heat yoga. You will want smaller classes with experienced teachers who will correct your postures. Only once or twice a week and in a month, you will be totally amazed at the flexibility and strength you gain.

Stretching is the best way to do it, just a few minutes a day, once morning, again at night. The more you make a make the move the more your body feels comfortable with it.

The easiest way would be to stretch everyday for about a half hour, or maybe even stretch twice a day. Its something easy to do at home in you living room. Trust it gets you where you need to be fast.

Stretch 30 minutes a day with Sundays and holidays off. Stretch while reading, watching TV. Isn't that hard to fit it in if you are serious about it.

when you work out, stretch before you start (holding for about 15-30 seconds each time) and then when you are finished, stretch again, trying to push yourself a little further (not enough to hurt but enough to feel the stretch), and if you do this every time, slowly you will notice an improvement.

My dance teachers have always said that if you stretch everyday, and after hot showers you get more flexible. Doing it after hot showers is easier because your muscles are relaxed, and it creates muscle memory, as doing it every day does. Hope i helped!
