I'm 15 and I'm going into my 2nd year of ballet. I want to join a competition dance academy but it's very expensive. I would also like to go to a dance camp over the summer (also very expensive) I found a few memorial scholarships before... but I can't seem to find them. Are there any scholarships you know of that could help me? Either based on financial need, essay contests or anything else.

The thing is, like the above responder said, the only scholarships you'll be able to get for the academy and dance camp will be through the program only and those are given to EXCEPTIONALLY talented dancers. I don't mean to discourage you but since this is only your 2nd year of ballet, I wouldn't expect to get it. There may be financial aid offered, which you'll have to look around for. If the summer camp is offered through your dance studio, you can offer to clean studios or whatever in exchange for classes.

Any available scholarships would only be offered through the programs, themselves. Ask the program directors if they offer scholarships or financial aid. There are no other scholarships out there that would award money for the purpose of attending these kinds of programs.
Sure there are things like leadership scholarships, essay contests, etc, but they don't have anything to do with dance. Your high school counselor's office should have information on all these kinds of award programs for high school students.
Sorry, because our government is lousy with supporting the arts, you have to have money to get decent training in things like dance.
