I want to look more slender even though I am quite slim already. Will a leotard with thin black pants under (kinda like thick tights) do with maybe a small skirt or just the leotard and "pants." Thanks.
PS. You may notice a girl who is always asking of dance auditions and thats me. I am just so excited and nervous. I want to do my best and want to get in. I love dance a I know ballet is a good step for doing other modern dances that I have already done...WISH ME LUCK...OR PRAY:)

Well, bring black shorty pants for sure then...
Usually its a good idea to wear pink tights for a ballet audition, because of the continuous line it creates with pink slippers or pointe shoes.
Leotards-unless they specify black DON'T wear it. Everybody wears black. If its for a student thing (eg, kid's ballet production, summer intensive or ballet school) stay kind of conservative, not bright orange probably. If its for a company audition--you want to stand out girl! But stay with solid colors, no flowers/swimmysuit kind of things. Warning-black with pink tights looks very studentish, and a company is not looking for a student.
Take extra tights, and water, and make sure your hair looks great...You can do it, good luck!

Greatchick, somebody's wires are getting crossed, as either you're not making it clear to us what kind of program you're auditioning for, or you're confused, or the people who run this program are confused.

#1: You are a beginner in dance; you said so yourself in another question:
<>

#2: If this really is a BALLET audition, then the proper attire is a leotard, tights, and dance slippers. NOTHING ELSE, not even pointe shoes, as you have no training in pointe. Ballet skirts are also not appropriate for young dancers at ballet auditions. I can only imagine that the lady said to have black shorty pants if you do not own a leotard and tights. But then you'd also need a tight-fitting t-shirt. This is usually considered proper attire for a boy.

#3 If this is a REAL ballet school that teaches proper ballet technique, then you wouldn't need a solo and you wouldn't need music, as you asked in your other question. Solos and music are needed in certain auditions that are for more advanced dancers.

So what is the deal here?! If this program is for real, then you are either confused or you're trying to audition for something that you're not qualified for. Otherwise, this program is CRAP and will get you nowhere. From the way you're describing things, they've got fake requirements and are interested in seeing fake dancing, as you keep acting as though you've got to come up with something to show them based on training that you've forgotten.

I can only hope for your sake that this program is for real and you're just overly excited and confused. If you're really serious about wanting to pursue ballet training, I urgently recommend that you take your questions over to "Ballet Talk for Dancers":
http://dancers.invisionzone.com/index.php?
And then I urgently recommend that you seriously listen to what the people over there have to say, because they know what they're talking about. That message board is monitored by professional dancers who are experts. You are not helping yourself by listening to the mixed messages you're getting here.

If the "Lady" said shorty pants, she should honer her request; otherwise, you will be starting off on the wrong foot by not FOLLOWING instructions. You can certainly take the black leotard, pink tights; but who are you trying to impress? Us or the Instructor.

If you have any real doubts, call the studio and verify her request. If you really want this, do the right thing...

Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes. Also, take your pointe shoes, if you do pointe. Hair pulled back in a bun. If it's a ballet dance audition, they want to see everything. Unless specifically asked, don't wear a skirts, pants, shorts, etc.

Black Leotard, low back, tank or long sleeves.
Ballet Pink/Theatrical Pink Tights with seams.
Skirt if needed.
Short pants? I would suggest tight black exercise shorts if she said this is required.
Technique shoes. Bring along pointe shoes if required.
Hair secured out of face and off the neck.

Clean lines is a must so they can see your face, arms, legs, back.

Shorty Pants? For Ballet auditions?
I say go conservative with black leotard, white/light pink tights, small wrap skirt.
If they know what they're doing, they'll prefer this so that they can see your position and body lines.

The fact that they want "short pants" makes me suspicious that they know what they're looking for.

Don't break your ankle just to please some ambitious adult wanting to live vicariously through you. Go for the pros.

Ok, what you need is a leotard, that fits you perfect, ballet slippers, stretchy shorts that will match your leotard
