Speak to mom. Tell her how you feel.
But if you're old enough, maybe it's time to move on.
She's probably just trying to start her life again with her new husband, and could appear that she's ignoring you.
Hope it works out between you and mom.

A mother should never pick anyone over her child; however, if you are grown and you are uncomfortable maybe it is time for you to allow you mother live her life as she sees fit.
As for the abuse that is a different issue and if it is true, a real mother should have kicked him to the curb... Abusing my child is NEVER okay!!!

this happened to me when i was a baby my mother chose her new husband over me,only thanks to my grandmother that i did not end up in an orphanage,my mother had four more children who knew nothing of me until later in life and now i am close with 3 of them ,move on if your not wanted and thats ok their conciences will get them one day.

if he has assaulted you, leave immediately.call the police and charge him with assault and get a peace bond on him. as for your mom pray that she wakes up and comes to her senses. find a friend or some 1 you can trust and confide in them. please take action now it never gets any better. good luck and god bless
