I used to dance too and I got excited instead of nervous. Just relax and enjoy! Why else would you be dancing if you're not enjoying it?

A day or so before it, treat yourself to just a day of beauty and relaxation. Either download or buy meditation tapes/music, lay down and listen to them. You can light candles or insense and just relax. Also, if you have any face masks or scrubs you can give yourself a facial. Do a face steam, masks, whatever it is that make you feel your best.
You can also use a variety of visualization techniques. Try picturing in your head over and over how wonderful everything will turn out, and do that until you feel confident that it really will go that way.
Good luck and have fun!

Yoga is helpful, if you have done it.
Using relaxation and imaging techniques is also quite useful.
Most of all, don't thinking about it too much. Anxiety comes from too much thinking and worrying.
Once you are dancing, you will be too focused to be nervous anymore! As a long-time performer, this is really familiar.
Do a great job, and let me know how it went!

It's natural to feel nervous.
I was a professional musician for 10 years, playing to a worldwide audience, sometimes in a band, sometimes solo.
You will always get a bit nervous but after a while you get used to it and tend to 'block out' the audience....
Good Luck!

Ifin you dont calm down..you are going to mess up big time.
If you know you are good, keep thinkg that and you will make it.
Otherwise..you are going to perform and mess up.
I dont know ya, but if you can dance like I can..you can do this. Think good about yourself and the recital...not nothing or no one eles.
Good Luck, god bless

my suggestion is RELAXATION. follow this simple technique, believe me it works. before your recital, go to a place where you can concentrate and do some relaxation. close your eyes, breathe in slowly, hold your breath (about 5 seconds), breathe out (another 5 seconds), hold your breath (10 seconds). repeat the process. good luck! and let me know if it works.

I know once you get up there you want to freeze but think about how good dancing makes you feel and how there is no one in the room but you. and breath as if your lungs are the notes in the song soft and fluid

Breathing is good. Before my performances I usually like to sit alone and worry about the choreography. Just trust yourself, if you screw up who cares? You'll most likely be the one who is hardest on yourself.
Even professionals screw up, and if you make a mistake don't show it. Don't cringe, don't smile, do nothing and most people won't notice.

Hypnotise yourself! Just chillax, I was nervous at first, too but I made as though no one else was there. Only me, and it worked. I just concentrated on what I was doing. Don't even pay attention to anyone around you.
