A boy named mud?

The story is about this boy who is a bully, and gets bit by a beetle, who is a new type of bug, he then turns see through -except his organs. Everyone is scared of him now.

He runs away with his dog, who also is eventually bit, they both are see-through now, and the dog gets bit again years later, the dog turns normal again, and the boy gets bit on purpose by another bug, so he can return to the city.

Upon returning, people begin screaming and freaking out, because while he was gone the bugs bit everyone in the city, everyone now is see-through, while he is "normal" and the "weird", "scary" one. He is yet again the loner.

That is all I remember of this book, is this book's title "A boy named mud" ?

I need to read a novel, play, 5 short stories, or a book of poetry by a writer from any country besides the US and/or England. The writing can be classical or contemporary, but I'd appreciate an exciting read!! As I figured this would be an awesome opportunity to read something awesome, I'd like help to find the "perfect" book.

For example,
Anna Karenina (but TOO LONG!!)
Prisoner of Tehran
Stolen Lives by Malima Askar
something by Pearl S. Buck
A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Baeb (which i own and am thinking of doing)
From a Crooked Rib by Ruddin Farah
By Bread Alone-Mel Mermelstein?

Much as I love The Kite Runner and its sequel, neither of those are available.
I've already read The Good Earth.

Thanks!!

I guess it's safe to say I'm a 'writer.'

I have this unnatural 'need' to put my pen to paper.

It's almost addicting.

I've been on the search for LEGITIMATE writing contests. However, the search usually ends with me scratching my head at yet another dead-end.

Any possible leads finish with 'more-than-fishy' circumstances: (Social Security Number, Credit Card number, and sometimes they ask for a hefty amount of cash, all in the hopes that they 'might' read my poem/short story within the following 'months.')

Whether they were an actual threat I don't know, but I stay clear of those.

I've even heard about possible 'cash' prizes for works of fiction.

Yes I like to write, but to possibly make money for doing something I love? It's a no-brainer. I don't want to sound cocky, but I feel I have what it takes to win 'something.'

So, I'm turning to my fellow 'Yahoo!' users for help: Any LEGITIMATE writing contests with 'cash' prizes?

Yes, the money would help!!!

Yahoo community,

I need your help. In my personality class today, we discussed Jung. The professor said that Jung read a book about God being both evil and good. I asked him what the title of that book was and he told me but I forgot what it was, I just remember him saying In memories and dreams or something like that (I know that Jung wrote memories, dreams, and reflections, but don't know what the name of the book he read is). If anyone knows the title I would really appreciate it if you told me. I've tried searching for the book just typing "in memories and dreams" but I can't find the book I'm looking for.

Thanks : )
