Yahoo community,

I need your help. In my personality class today, we discussed Jung. The professor said that Jung read a book about God being both evil and good. I asked him what the title of that book was and he told me but I forgot what it was, I just remember him saying In memories and dreams or something like that (I know that Jung wrote memories, dreams, and reflections, but don't know what the name of the book he read is). If anyone knows the title I would really appreciate it if you told me. I've tried searching for the book just typing "in memories and dreams" but I can't find the book I'm looking for.

Thanks : )

In reading about Jung's life and work in Wiki, which is very interesting and may make me too late on your question... I see that his father was a "parson," so he had Bible-learning from an early age.
He is said to consider the Book of Job from the Bible to be the first time a person "contemplating criticism of God" was encountered by him. In 1952 he wrote "Answer to Job," about that Book.

In 1917 the first work attributed to him was probably written (give or take a year...) called "Sermons to the Dead." That work, a poetic one, is "often found in 'Memories, Dreams, Reflections.'
I don't know if "Answer to Job" is included there or not.

However it seems to me that the book Jung read about God being both evil and good is the Book of Job, from the Bible, in which God certainly is represented as both evil and good! (I read it many times in the past... one of my faves--)

Thanks for the interesting question... a star!

Yeah, you could say that I suppose. Carl did a very cool thing after he wrecked. Not too many drivers will do that. Way to go Carl!
