Anne talks very frankly (pardon the pun) about her emerging sexuality, as well as providing some extremely harsh criticisms of some of her fellow attic-mates. If I remember correctly, Otto Frank elected to excise some of those portions so as not to offend the relatives/memories of their fellow Jews, an especially important consideration immediately after the war.

I seem to recall that when her Father originally submitted the diary for publication, he removed some of the entries refering to her emerging sexuality, including those refering to the young man (whose name I can't remember) for whom she developed feelings.
As time went on, her Father agreed that the entries were no longer of a nature to cause any concerns, and an unedited version was published.

The "Edited" version removes several references of a sexual nature. (Anne was beginning to have some of the "urges" of people her age.) Also she had some harsh things to say about some of the other occupants that her father through would be best left unsaid as a consideration for their families.

I believe it had more about her beginning interest in boys, and possibly a romantic relationship. Also more about fights and disagreements with her family. I'll have to read it now that I live in Holland.

When a book gets edited, all the spelling and grammatical mistakes are corrected. I assume the unedited version has her writings just as she wrote them, with no corrections.

you Answered your own question. its completely unedited and as she left it, so i guess its longer and more in depth than the edited one though the basic outline wont change.
