Are you willing to go out and buy it or do you want to find a free one on line?
If you want a free one, try http://www.gutenberg.net. For titles, try FRECKLES or GIRL OF THE LIMBERLOST.
If you'd rather have an Oz book, type in L. Frank Baum under author. Pick one.
If you want science fiction, try Jules Verne or H. G. Wells.
Black Beauty is also there.
So is THE UNWILLING VESTAL, but it's a bit old for you. The girl was ten, but the writing is much older.
Gutenberg is a real treasure trove of good books. Remember it.

Thirteen, eh? Two years ago one of my favorite books was (still is, really) 'To Kill a Mockingbird'. It's not that long, and it's an absolutely amazing story that will change your perceptions. I really admire Atticus Finch, and when I read the book I also identified with Scout and her confusion with the world.

let me think...Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo, any of the Harry Potter books, anything by Roald Daul.
If you read at a higher level, yunno, college or high school books, try the Pawn of Prophecy by David Eddings or the first of the Harper Hall of Pern series by Anne Mccaffery (Sorry, can't think of the title)
Hope this helps.
