I'm reading the last book of a series and felt a twinge of sadness when one of the characters died. I know it's silly but it was almost like losing a friend whom I've know for a number of years (nearly 20 to be exact). Anyway, if you think I am mental at least be kind about saying it if you don't mind, I would appreciate that.

I hate it when that happens because when there's more than one answer I think deserves the 'Best Answer' award, I don't know what to do.

I rarely put answers for vote becuase I've noticed (I don't know if it's just me) but for some reason when answers are put to vote, the most idiotic, useless and unhelpful answer is voted as 'best answer' has anyone else noticed that?

So what do you useually do when you can't decicde which answer deserves the 'Best Answer'?

I have written a children's book which I truly believe has the potential of being published. I'm not just proud of the work. I really do think it could be published. I do not have illustrations for it, and I cannot draw so, I was thinking a publisher could hire someone for that. But how can I get the book published without having to like pay a lot of money, or do you have to pay money to find a publisher to publish your book. Thanks!

I have recently finished and illustrated a children's book, and was just wondering how I would go about getting a copyright for it.
Is it expensive?
Do you recommend it?

Any input would be helpful.

My book is about to come out. Because its page number exceeds what it was initially contracted, the publisher charges me a significant sum of subvention from me, in addition to what I have already paid. If I refuse, the publisher says to cancel the contract. However, estimation given in the mid-production process when all pages were ready, the publisher did not inform me of any extra cost. Is there anything I can do?

Can anyone give me a summary of this book? I would be extremely grateful. Please only reply if you've read the book and are willing to help.

Short unhelpful answers like "I haven't read it" or "read it yourself" will be deleted.

I have written a fantasy adventure book, I love to write, I have been told by a great fantasy author that I have the talent needed to be successful but that I need to work on my writing skill, I wonder two things, should I rewrite the original book which is actually not great, some nice points but it was more an exercise in completing a work over actual content. The plot is a bit shaky but most of the Characters are well rounded. Or should I simply start from scratch with the lessons I have learned firmly in mind and perhaps transplant some of my characters?

-I did read the book, I just can't remember if he ever mentions it. He mentions getting married in his final song, but I think he's not applying it to himself.

jk rowling claims to hav no religous aspects in harry potter, yet the students at hogwarts celebrate christmas which is a prodestant holiday. rowling, as we klnow did not represent anything religous at the wedding of bill and fluer or the birth of tonks and lupin's baby. do u not agree that christmas defeats all her saying that she did not express religion in the series even though there was no mention of god or anything?

OK, two things:

1.) Does anyone mind sharing a fantasy story idea or two? I love writing and I'm good at constructing the plot, but I need a main inspiration to get me started. Thanks!

2.) Does anyone know what most people enjoy reading from fiction stories? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think most people like to read about things that are TOO out-there, like robot ninja queens or anything. I think they want a story they can relate to, and even though they know it's made up, it should be partly believable. Like Twilight or Harry Potter. They're more advanced then regular people, so who's not to say they couldn't really be a magic world?

Thanks, guys! Any help is appreciated! :)

Hi, I read the other day about a book which teaches you how to act and what to say, when someone is belittling you. I believe it had a red cover, does anyone know the name of this book?

I'm getting married in a few months and my fiance and I are huge Harry Potter fans. I was trying to think of a passage that we could use as a reading but I don't think any are relevant. Any thoughts?
