I'm getting married in a few months and my fiance and I are huge Harry Potter fans. I was trying to think of a passage that we could use as a reading but I don't think any are relevant. Any thoughts?

I'm not trying to be trendy! We're having a very traditional wedding and want to use one of the readings to bring a little bit of our fun sides into it.

Ok first I would just like to say I LOVE the idea of reading HP at a wedding - its so different but such a great idea!!
I have found just a couple of quotes that would be nice at a wedding.
From the end of PS/SS: "If there is one thing Voldemort cannot understand, it is love."
Also there is a paragraph near the end of OotP on p743 UK edition, the chapter is called The Lost Prophecy and it is just a couple of paragraphs before the end of the chapter. It starts "'There is a room in the Department of Mysteries,' interrupted Dumbledore...etc I don't know how suitable it is but I think it's quite nice.
In OotP Ch37 there is a paragraph that starts "'I cared about you too much," said Dumbledore simply."

Maybe the epilogue from Deathly Hallows? The way it's all happily-ever-after, that seems wedding-y.
Rowling has a lot to say about love and loss, but it doesn't seem wedding appropriate. There's that passage in Sorceror's Stone, when Dumbledore says "Do you think the dead we loved ever really leave us?" I find it very moving but maybe not so much for a wedding.
Maybe Deathly Hallows, the description of Ginny kissing Harry on his birthday? I can't think of anything else particularly romantic.

That is so cool I am an obsessed harry potter fan so much I make web shows on it. Anywho i would write the 19 years later part in deathly hollows! With Harry and Ginny married and Ron and Hermione and the cute kids and stuff. That or the part when bellatrix, Cissa and Snape were talking in the spinners end chapter! That is really what i can think of so far!!

Pretty good. I'm not gonna be like other people and say '' that was bad'', i'm just gonna say dont use WE. Thats it really, its brilliant And using yahoo characters is good and funny but can i be in it? pretty please? anyway 9 and a 1/2 out of 10. =D

oh my gosh! that's so cute! unfortunately (and i mean that) i don't think there are any quotes worth reciting at a wedding. that's really creative though! best wishes on your marraige! =)

anyway,pick the line in dhal.some good ones by hermione,or pick something Dumbledore,sirius,hermione would say.
