That way, no one would ever have gotten to kill them on Halloween.

And also, Why couldn't they use timeturners so that people wouldn't be killed? They could have gone back in time and stopped it. I know it was important that James and Lily died because then Harry would of and no one would be able to defeat Voldemort but what about Sirius and the others?Or maybe even Merope so that she wouldnt have Tom Riddle?

Just a cut above self-publishing or a real way for authors that don't fit into simple genre definitions to get going?

Thanks!

Is there a website where you can compare your ideas with a database of others to see if they are the same? Like, if you had a good idea, but you wanted to check to see if anyone used it, you could go to it to see if it already exists.

For the people who love reading a lot: What's the benefit of it? And not just any books, but fictional books? I love to read a lot and I've noticed it helps me in dialogue when I speak to people and it also helps with my vocabulary, grammar and sentence structure when writing. How else does it help one person?

I saw someone refer to Walter Moers (who wrote "The 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebear") as a cult writer, but I found his bluebear book to be very enjoyable, childlike, and generally fun. I wouldn't link this book with "cult" in my mind. Except maybe the cults of fans. :P

of the names of many of the supposedly iliterate blacks having real names of famous writers. Ex. Robert Louis Stevenson Banks, aka Chimley & George Eliot Jr., aka Snookum. Why did Gains do this and what is its significance to the story?

I have finally reached the last five or six chapters of my first novel, and I have a good idea for them. The problem is, is that three of the main (sort of main) characters will die. Since I am planning on making it into a trilogy, I need opinions on whether this is a good idea (the reader will want to know what happens next) or a very bad idea (the reader will decide not to finish the trilogy because three important characters died in the first book, and in a mere couple of chapters). It's a fantasy book about a great war, if that helps at all. Thank you!

It's a children's book, and I think it may have been part of a series - there was a family of giant dolls that were alive. I can't remember any character names, but I remember one of the boys in the family was blue.

When it comes to romance novels, would you like first edition novels to collect or the cheaper in price the better?

What I am asking is if you like the author of a romance novel and / or the story, would you be willing to collect that persons novels? Or is that something that you wouldn't collect?

I'm writing a story about this guy - and the timeframe begins from birth to death. How can I skip a few years without really going into details and still keep it convincing for the reader. I mean, the characters have to mature and all that. I kind of need a transitional short piece. The story is after all a type of epic. Thanks
In case you wish to read a piece it is:
(note: read the prologue first)

strange chunks of ice that fell from the sky and just in general all kinds of oddities. I had it in paperback form and it was originally published in the late 50's early 60's and I am not quite sure of the title, I think it may have been called "Truth, stranger than fiction" or something like that. Does any one have or remember the correct title? I would like to try and find another copy of it. it was great reading! Thanks!!!

What's it about? Why is it your favorite? Please include the author.

Also, would you consider Jules Verne a science fiction author? Is Arthur Clarke a good science fiction writer? What science fiction book would you recommend for me to read?

My new novel is a mystery/thriller. It is published by a small publishing house in NY. The reviews and reader feedback have been great, but my publisher's promotional budget is small, so I am looking for ways to use the web to really get the word out. I am a novice in this area, so I would appreciate the help.

The mansion overlooked a rough sketch of coastline and hard blue water which remained cold as December and crashed as white foam over jagged rocks that waited with stern paitence to punish any would- be swimmers.

Of course you don't have the whole plot, much less a paragraph to read [this is all I can really give without spioling my book] but I for one love my sentence. lol!
