Is there a website where you can compare your ideas with a database of others to see if they are the same? Like, if you had a good idea, but you wanted to check to see if anyone used it, you could go to it to see if it already exists.

No not that I know of. But you know, I am sure where your ideas came from. Did you think them up yourself or did you get them from somewhere? I have never really known anyone who "accidently plagiarized." Just strive to be as fresh and original as you can and if it happens that an agent or publisher feels it is too close to someone else's work, the odds are it won't get published. They will tell you the problem. Pax- C

I don't think there is any website like that, therefore, it is wise for you to be original and cite essential references since it is widely and professionally practiced worldwide. It is simply an academic sin to plagiarize other people's ideas or paragraphs without any reference by assuming no one can identify them. The issue of plagiarism has long been serious in good universities/academia, in brief, it is a matter of respect or disgrace overnight.

Nope. Google is your best hope.

What idea do you have?
