Avalon High by Meg Cabot. It's the King Arthur story retold in modern times with the Lady of the Lake [one of my favorite characters] playing a major role.

Trickster's Choice and the sequel, Trickster's Queen by Tamora Pierce. I think it's because it's such a new idea, and I was surprised. The book is about a girl who becomes enslaved and ends up being bought by close relatives to the royal family or something like that. It turns out that the god of a certain chain of islands (I can't remember the name of them but the god is called the Trickster), made it so that the main character ended up with that family. So, first bringing a god into the story like this is pretty interesting and different, at least from other stories I've ever read. The Trickster god (who for some reason doesn't own those islands anymore) wants the main character there because he wants her to protect the family, I think because he wants the two daughters to rule over the islands. There's some political stuff included in this, and I don't remember everything having to do with this certain thing. So, she becomes a maid or a servant or something in the house, and soon they have to move to those islands for the family's safety, though I can't remember exactly why, and that's where the real protection really begins. The Trickster comes often enough to visit her, and he has the crows (his birds) teach her their language so she can use them as spies and allies. One becomes very fond of her and changes into a human for her, his name is Nawat, and he is the love interest, here. He is also insanely cute. So, as you can see, this story is very different. That's why I like it so much, and also because the author has such talent and writes it so well, it's really just amazing. I borrowed it from my school library, and then, not too long ago, I bought the books to have them.

My favorite fantasy novel has to be Wyrd Sisters by Terry Pratchett, closely followed by Good Omens that Pratchett wrote with Neil Gaiman. They have excellent story construction, and are hilariously funny.

The Twilight series!!! Vampires and werewolves are the coolest things ever!!!!!! But I love it because the characters are so realistic that it seems like it could be real, even though it's about mythical creatures.
Of course, I also love Harry Potter books.
And the Inheritance trilogy, Eragon, Eldest, and ___?___

I love The Mists of Avalon. A really interesting retelling of the King Arthur legend through the women's perspective, particularly his sister Morgaine.

A wrinkle in time, because it caught my interest from beging to end and made me want more after I finished it. The imagination that it took to write it. I also loved all the harry potter books, very skillful, and creative!
