My husband wants me to get the DVD. I hear that it is just a trend Oprah started by having the author on her show. I guess it's making millions for the author but is it stuff we already know? I also read an excerpt in an article that says it says something like "if you don't want to be fat, don't look at fat people". That is rude and shallow! In my opinion, from what I've read, this book promotes self-centeredness; something I think society has already accomplished. I am going to watch it but would like to know your thoughts.

Which one would you choose?

"You are curious, like me," E said. "Therefore, I will tell you. Come with me."

E led this female called Elaine through a dense jungle. Danger was hiding everywhere, from the undergrowth to the heights of the canopy. The trip was harsh, but at last the friends reached a clearing. It was beautiful. Comfortable.

"Sit here with me, Elaine. I will tell you. Do you see this jungle that surrounds us? Within it lurks creatures of all kinds. There is Snake, who spits lethal venom from his mouth. Tiger hides patiently, waiting to pounce on the innocent. Hawk flies high and uses his flying advantage over the weaker creatures. Chameleon changes himself to better suit his surroundings and deceive his neighbors.
"Here in this clearing, there is peace. You and I are able to talk without fear. However, one step in any direction places us at the jungle's mercy. This danger contols us. Standing as I was -- on that rock -- was dangerous as well. But it was my choice. I controlled the danger."

I keep getting up and down. I have the material to write and I can whenever I sit down, but I seem to constantly get up and procrastinate. How do I stop this?

Enough already. A spoiler can't spoil anything if you've read the book!!!

Just don't read the spoiler garbage. You CAN read the real thing. Go download the images and read the book. Why wait around and complain!

All the pages are posted on Pirate Bay. I just read the last page myself.

I think Harry's the Heir of Gryffindor, RAB is Sirius' brother, and Hermione will die. Here are more of MY THEORIES. Not spoilers.
1. The real locket horcrux is in Grimmauld Place. Rememeber in OOTP when the trio and Molly were cleaning and they found a necklace of no importance? I think Regulus hid it there. What better place than in a know Death Eater's home? Who would look there, especially after no one living there for so long until Sirius returned, and by then, Dumbledore was only beginning to piece together the puzzle. Easy to overlook considering he - Dumbledore - didn't open the locket and read the note.

2. Harry won't die. End of discussion. Good always wins, and I believe Harry is smart enough to figure a way of distroying Voldemort without having to sacrifice himself. Dumbledore kept saying how much more stronger and important Harry was over himself. Maybe he can look in the Mirror of Erised to find the answer.

3. Harry is not a horcrux. That's crazy.

Here are some of my quesitons:

1. What happened at Godric's Hollow? Who got Voldemort's wand and brought it to him?
2. Why did James give Dumbledore his invisibility cloak for "safe keeping?" Dumbledore can make himself invisible.
3. What's with Lily's and Harry's eyes? There's something big about them.
4. Will the Mirror of Erised play a big part?

What do YOU think?

I know that showing rather than telling is useful and that characters should be well rounded like a villian who donates to charity. But I need any other advice anyone might have.

Listen, I think its cool that many people know what the ending of the book is already going tyo be before Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows comes out. But, for those of us such as myself, please don't spoil the ending unless a person asks the question:"What happens in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?" Otherwise, when Im trying to answer questions, the other answers have either cluies to what will happen or the actual conclusion, and its very discouraging.
THIS IS IN NO WAY, SHAPE OR FORM A DIS TO ANYONE! This is just a request to possible be considered by those who know the ending conclusion to the book. I greatly appreciate all of the people who are looking to see what happens, but my personal advice is that -its better to read the book and see all of the details leading up to the end and you then can fully understnad the book and its contents. After all, many of us have read all of the books and are anxiously waiting to see/READ what happens in the final book. Thanks!

I'm really into the classics right now and my friend wants some suggestions for some classics to read. Thing is, she's really intimidated by long books (East of Eden, etc.) and wants some shorter ones to read. I'm looking for a few classics that are 250 pages or less. I already have Of Mice and Men and Animal Farm... any other suggestions?

A lot of folks ask for book suggestions on here, which is understandable. Also understandable is asking for good books to read, books that aren't boring. But there in lies the problem. How do we know what the asker thinks is good, non-boring read? When the asker provides some of the stuff they like to read (for example authors, book series, genres) then it becaomes easier for us to make our suggestions. But we still don't know whether or not the asker will find the stuff good and not boring.

Certainly I'm not suggesting people stop making suggestions. I do it every once in a while myself and will continue to do so. We're all going to suggest the things we enjoy. But how do we know that those asking the question will find our suggestions enjoyable rather than something they'd rather put under the foot of a wobbly desk to balance it out?

Hi,

I have recently learned who dies in the last Harry Potter book.

Do you want to know who dies before you read the book, or would you prefer not to know until you have read it?

I hope no one includes who dies in their answers!!!

I dont really like that Dumbledore is dead... he used to be my favorite character. And on JK Rowlings website she confirmed that Dumbledore would not come back to life in any way, shape, or form. I mean, now that Dumbledore is dead, who is going to be Harry's fatherlike figure??? Cuz Serious is dead and obviously so are his real parents. The weasleys could be his family but no one there is really like a father to him. I still want to read the book but i still think that it wont be quite so cool when Dumbledore is gone. Does anyone else agree???
