the fifth book is long but filled with quite pointless or unnecessary things that would make the film boring oryou would need them all for it to make sense and if they did them all it would not make sense

I think it's because it was one of the longest books and also I think their trying to fix mistakes that they made in movie three and four so they didn't want to make it too long, also they didn't want to have to spend the time setting up to many perminant roles as a safety type thing, like with firenze. And also they cut out alot, but the transitions in the movie were so much better than the third and fourth movie. They took the time to fix things and add in the most important than trying to make it the cg and special effects king. They really focused more this time.

They changed the movie so much from the book- like in the beginning, remember how harry was supposed to be in the bushes? wel that took a lot of time to go through with the plot. but in the movie they started of with harry potter in the playground, there were also many other alterations.

because everything they put in the movie ran smoothly and they didnt need to add anymore. HAHA jk i did like the movie but ummm nevermind. Also they wouldnt make a 4 hour movie cause people would not want to see it. well only potter fans but not everyone is a potter fan so that would make less money for the movie.

Because the people who made the movie were stupid idiots!
OOTP is my favorite book in the series so far and the fact that they could have included so many more sub-plots makes me sick. They were lazy! And I personally feel they cut things that really impact book 6 and probably book 7 also.

well they've been having trouble w/ the movies due to constant director changes, and this time they got a really horrible director, the movie kinda sucked, but eventually they will redo the whole series in a movie and i hope it will be better,

I really have no idea. They took out most of the Harry/Cho stuff and other things, but it should have been longer.
