Can you research the details of your adoption? Adoptees can learn about their birth parents much more easily these days. Ask your parents to show you their records of your adoption.
Adoptions are much more open these days. It's good and bad, but if you are curious about your background start with your parents. Many adoptees have found their biological families. Many happy reunions, but some haven't gone very well.
There are registries of birth parents looking for the children they relinquished, and the same registries have adoptees looking for birth parents. These registries have helped people find each other.
