I'm writing a YA historical fiction novel and have done a lot of research. I use actual names, places, and events from the 1860s. Can descendants of the people object to my using their ancestors' names? How much freedom do I have in creating their private lives?

“To be great is to be misunderstood” Emerson refers to greatness often in his essay. In his essay he illustrates what one needs to be great and defines what that means. Emerson uses his aphorisms in Self Reliance to illiterate how society holds individuals back from greatness by making them fear self trust.
Emerson emphasizes on self trust. He expresses that self trust and individuality is the key to greatness. In the essay Emerson voice that people need to search for what’s good or bad according to them rather than let society tell them and live by the laws according to them. “He who would gather immortal palms must not be hindered by the name of goodness but must explore if it be goodness”. He tells us that we can’t let society hinder our ideas.

Then the executioner descended, entered tie chapel, and reappeared leading Lucrezia, who was the first to suffer. At the foot of the scaffold he tied her hands behind her back, tore open the top of her corsage so as to uncover her shoulders, gave her the crucifix to kiss, and led her to the step ladder, which she ascended with great difficulty, on account of her extreme stoutness; then, on her reaching the platform, he removed the veil which covered her head. On this exposure of her features to the immense crowd, Lucrezia shuddered from head to foot; then, her eyes full of tears, she cried with a loud voice--

"O my God, have mercy upon me; and do you, brethren, pray for my soul!"

Having uttered these words, not knowing what was required of her, she turned to Alessandro, the [p. 409] chief executioner, and asked what she was to do; he told her to bestride the plank and lie prone upon it; which she did with great trouble and timidity;

I have boxes of high quality soft and hard cover books that I don't want to read again. The subject matter is a broad range from the esoteric to the mundane and everything in between -- literature, mystery, romance, best-sellers of every possible category, novelty/gift books, books with DVDs, psychology, philosophy, religion, self-help...the list is endless! I don't care if I get money for them. I just don't want to trash them as I am sure somebody somewhere would enjoy reading some of them. My local library doesn't take donated books. I'm not up for organizing a garage sale. I'm not going to put myself through the trouble of ebay and I have already gone through them and resold what I could through Barnes and Noble. It was a ridiculous exercise, a waste of my time, and for the money I got, I'd rather just give these books a good home.

Where or to whom have you donated books? It seems like a total waste for me to put them out with the trash. I would appreciate your ideas.

PLEASE READ THIS AND SUGGEST WHAT THE THESIS SHOULD BE.
In Harper Lee’s novel to Kill a Mockingbird Scout Finch is the narrator and protagonist of the story. She narrates the story in first person, telling the readers what she hears and sees through her experiences. She is also known as Jean Louise Finch . At the beginning of the story set in the mid 1930s, Scout is an innocent five year old child who lives in the town of Maycomb, Alabama. Scout is the youngest in her family, living with her father Atticus, brother Jem, and the cooker Capurina. Throughout the beginning of the novel, Scout acts more of a tomboy by wearing overalls and learning how to climb trees rather than wearing dresses and learning manners. In this book Scout is a intelligent, confident, and a thoughtful character.

I think Harry Potter will be the last horcrux becasue voledemort gave part of his sole to Harry when he tried to kill him, so he will have to kill himself to defeat voldemort.

I also think that Dumbledore will come back and save Harry.

Do you think Harry will die?

I am setting up Swaprock.com.au which will allow people to swap these items that they no longer use. It is not up yet, but not far away.
Just list the items you dont use, send them to someone when they ask for them, then you get credit to request stuff you want from others!!
I think it could be very popular, especially with uni people for books, and gamers would love it too. Dvd and Cd collectors would get into it I reckon also, but I NEED INPUT FROM PEOPLE.
If you would like more info drop me an email at swaprock@yahoo.com.au I am starting beta testing in April 07 and need some people to give it a try.
