I felt a funeral in my brain

She was quite reclusive and also had this inordinate obsession with death and funerals. Whether it is this one or "Because I Could Not Stop for Death" she deals with issues that surround the end of life.

In this case she finds that death is not quite as smooth and peaceful as she had suspected. Everything was done and then it all falls apart.

Her poems have been known to have the effect on some people. :-) However, she also did write some sweet and rather upbeat poems about nature.
