I plan to be an author in the future but now I just LOVE writing for fun! Any coolio ideas to start a BEYOND AMAZING story?

There are a lot of them ... just remember some basics ...
First, write about what you know about. Look around you in your family or at school and write about people that are the weirdest and most outrageous.
* Make sure you have a very clear setting (time and place)
*Make sure your protagonist, main character, is very well described and you have described not only how they look, but their personalities and backgrounds as well, their thoughts and motivations. Make sure they are both good and bad. No one is all good.
* Make sure your antagonist is believable and has been well described also. Make sure that they are both good and bad. No one is all evil.
* Keep a clear conflict going between these two characters. What are they struggling over? Is it love? power? money? position? social position? Look around you and see what your family and friends stuggle over. Why do they fight and have arguments?
* Make sure you have a clear conclusion, but don't go from a conflict directly to the conclusion. Life always throws twists and turns around for us.
* Make sure you know who you are writing for. Is it adults? teens? children? write to them, not above or below their levels.
Good luck. Again, write about what you know the most about. And, while your family or town may be boring to you, chances are I've never been there so I'd love to hear about it.

Now just hold on a minute... You plan to be an author and yet you come HERE asking for coolio ideas to start a BEYOND AMAZING story? Dear, people's coolio ideas are their intellectual property and if they have them, they use them themselves to write. You are going to be a writer who uses other people's ideas? I suggest you rethink your career plans. Without stories of your own, you can't be an author. Sorry - Pax -C
