i'm really not trying to put the book down, i'm just really, really curious. My friend recommended it to me and the first two books were okay; I thought, "cool, another book where the new kid joins the popular clique and stands up to them" but I borrowed the other books from my friend, and I keep on thinking, "where is the STANDING UP?! claire seems to be as stupid as the rest of em; shallow, materialistic, and superficial"
plus, I live in westchester, and I find this book offending. Sure, some of us live in big houses and wear nice clothes but I don't know anybody as self-absorbed and conceited as the 'Pretty Commitee'.
And... I don't know, I think the book promotes all the wrong things. You don't have to agree with me; that's why I asked the question, but I really hope you see my point of view.
If these types of books are what's bestselling these days, then I have a feeling I know what's giong to society in a few more years...
Please, give me an argument to contemplate.
