i need an interesting thesis to prove regarding madame bovary and crime and punishment. i need to write a 15 page paper and i want an intersting topic, more specifically with crime and punishment. i have some ideas maybe regarding the different philospical theories in crime and punishment, but i just need general ideas. thanks.

There are certainly themes of "justice" in both novels and an exploration could be interesting. Where do your own interests typically go? That's the best way to do a large project. Look for the similarities that jump out at you; for others, those comparisons might not be immediately obvious.

For me, I would explore feminine roles and understanding in both novels. I would examine feminist literary theory (which differs greatly from liberal feminism) and see how that might change my reading and interpretation of the text.
