Critics have noted the prevalence of the theme of appearance bersus reality in Othello. In his soliliquy at the end of Act II, Iago declares "when devils will the blackest sins put on, they do suggest at first with heavenly shows./as i do now"
In the first two acts of the drama waht are Iago's devilish intentions in regards to Roderigo, Cassio, and Othello? And what "heavenly shows" does he use to disguise his blackest sins?

I know this is vague and I apologise - it is a chilhood memory. I read a children's novel about about a black cat who I think was called carponel, carbonel... it was a magical sort of book where the cats could speak... anyone know it? Ive love to get hold of it again.

I just finished reading The Peony Pavilion in my Chinese Drama & Performing Arts class and in it the heroine who is pretty much secluded from the outside world, visits a beautiful garden, which awakens her passions and she has a dream about a "romantic tryst" with a man she has never met. She falls in love with him through that one dream and falls really sick and eventually dies. I won't ruin the ending, but it's a happy one. :)
I had a dream that I was having dinner with my family & current boyfriend & then I said to myself in the dream, "I should date Jose," who I had just met a few days before. I would have never thought of him that way but my dream helped me realize it. That's the closest I can get to the story. Anyone else?

I read a lot. I read everything, but I enjoy the science fiction and fantasy genre for recreational reading. I'm looking for awesome books by talented authors that I haven't already read.

Please have read the book you recommend, and tell me a little bit about why I should put it on the top of my reading list. Thanks.

I like to write poetry. However i'm not very good at it yet. I can really use some constructive criticism on this poem.
It's about a man who loses his wife during childbirth and is left with his newborn baby daughter to raise which he calls his angel. It's not based on a story in my life, just something I made up.

My friend's daughter wants to use this poem in her wedding. My opinion is that it is not appropriate. What does everyone think?

Habitation by Margaret Atwood
Marriage is not
a house or even a tent

it is before that, and colder:

the edge of the forest, the edge
of the desert
the unpainted stairs
at the back where we squat
outside, eating popcorn

the edge of the receding glacier

where painfully and with wonder
at having survived even
this far

we are learning to make fire

I am a poet. Never been published cause I never submit. I tend to write when I feel inspired to do so. Everyone tells me how great my poetry is, but are they just being nice? or do people really enjoy poetry?
