I wrote this in october this year, a couple of days before my 17th birthday. It's about a failed relationship even though I based it on a false idea. I haven't been in a relationship for a while but when I looked at the page this poem was written and turns out that was what it was about. I also wrote this on another site under the name RoadandtheRadio. Do I have a furute as a writer?

Wildwood Flower

Beneath night I confide,
On sheets thin to hold ink,
Scrawled in minute stains.
Neglected wildwood flower,
Pale petals drawn into center,
Not knowing how long it lay,
Dying on torn sketchbook page,
Or when it first bloomed bright.

Beneath night I confide,
On mind chained, weighed down.
The cold air touching my lungs,
Freezing an out stretched hand,
Dropped into life’s empty pocket.
Blue lips whisper an icicle apology,
Swept into wind’s equal wail echo.
Alone waits I, pale wildwood flower.

Highways

Looking for openings in the sky
she waves good bye to surrealism
wrapping the present of time
hiding it in her truth
for no fool to know

the highway seems scarred
by too many stories
racing into the night
of journeys never appreciated
impossible to rewind

my eyes can’t stay open
to see all the beauty
as the sun sets behind me
I cast judgment upon towns
under the palm of my hand

sad faces in fallen trees
wanting to tell stories
to fall apart and have a stranger
put them back together
a jigsaw puzzle

ponds dirtied with who we are
where sins are washed away
until sense is again made
forgiving until youth
brings you back to yourself

the music of nature lasts
but worlds shown through words
are never three dimensional
so we find in time we fail
to reveal beautiful truths

Still angels hover above
when my beatless heart goes numb
never knowing the freedom
of appreciating life
as it unfolds before my eyes

why does dickinson say that "hope is the thing with feathers" instead of just saying that hope is like a bird. What is the significance of feathers etc.

On A Christmas carol by Charles dickens the Marley's ghost tells scrooge that he will be visited by three ghost

(quotes from the book)

``Without their visits,'' said the Ghost, ``you cannot hope to shun the path I tread. Expect the first to-morrow, when the bell tolls One.''

``Couldn't I take 'em all at once, and have it over, Jacob?'' hinted Scrooge.

``Expect the second on the next night at the same hour. The third upon the next night when the last stroke of Twelve has ceased to vibrate. Look to see me no more; and look that, for your own sake, you remember what has passed between us."

But then how come when scrooge woke up after he had been visited by the ghost of christmas yet to come he woke on christmas day?I don't get it...can you explain this to me?

Okay, here it is. When the 6th book first came out I of course read it. When I was finished I started thinking about what I had read (which is obviously something people do after reading a book). You know at the end, when Dumbledore has died and Harry opens the horcrux and there is a note in it from R.B? Well, the only person I could think of with those initials was Sirius's brother Regulus (I don't know if that is spelled correctly) Black. Then I remembered in the 5th book, when the Weasley's and Harry and Sirius were cleaning the Order of the Phoenix how they found a locket that nobody could open.......do you think that it is the real horcrux?

Sorry if this is old news and somebody has already thought of it.......

I want to know [more] about the French revolution, and I am looking for a book that describes it to the core. I'd prefer not to read a book that assumes the reader is unfamiliar with the Revolution and thus skips major (or minor) details that just need a little explaining, but want a book that is extremely factual, and is, overall, a good read.

I remember reading about a girl who's mother was a prostitute and brought her daughter up in a brothel as a prostitute too. Whats the name of the book? I think it takes place a very long time ago and might have been a true story. It not memoirs of a giesha as someone already suggested.
