When I first talked to you,
I didn't know what to say,
But the more we talked,
The more my heart gave way.
But now when I think of you,
And how you changed my life,
I can't imagine,
A day without your light.
You light up the day,
As if you were the sun,
You are the sense of completion,
When my difficult project is done.
You are my strength, and wisdom,
And the keeper of my heart,
Whose grip never weakens,
Even when we're apart.
I think of you all day,
And dream of you all night,
And every night I wish,
That you could hold me tight.
You are always on my mind,
No matter what time or day,
Even when I shouldn't,
I think about you anyway.
And when I think of you this much,
The days seem so long,
And all the time we spend apart,
Just seems so wrong.
You are my special gift,
Sent from up above,
Sent to me from heaven,
Sent for me to love.
Thank you for your smile,
And your light that fills my dreams,
You always make it brighter,
No matter how dark it seems.

I am looking for a book club for liberals. I have found the conservative bookclub and many more for conservatives, but is there one with just liberal propaganda in them.

My friend's kid has a homework assignment, and the question is:

Explain the following quote (from Uncle Tom's Cabin):" The worst use you can put a man is to hang him. No; there is another use that a man can be put to the is WORSE!"

I have never read the book, but I am assuming by looking at the question that the explanation is that enslaving a person is worse than hanging them. I'm not sure how detailed an answer a 5th grade teacher is looking for though.

I read a book in the sixth grade in 1981 about time travel and I am trying to find out the title of the book.

The story is about a brother and sister who go to a house that their mother told them to stay away from. The residents of the house are three witches.

The two children ride horses with the three witches and travel on a rope through time. Their method of travel is for two parts of the rope to come together and the horses move across.

Who is the author and what is the title of the book?

He believed in verbs to the ommission of all other parts of speech. It's impossible, of course, but it was a mad dream he held close to all his days.

I'm 18 and I read this book back in elementary school, I think. (maybe 5th grade). I remember the cover had bleachers on it. And you could see the sky, and I think a bike was leaning against the bleachers. The story was about a sister that lost her brother. I think his name was Marty. The brother got killed while riding his bike. The girl played soccer and she heard the ambulance go by. They had a dog that died after euthanasia, and they collected his hairs in a baggie. After the brother dies, the family is all depressed. Don't remember much else, but this used to be my favorite book. I need to know the name of the book and author, please.

Hey, I'm just wondering how long each book (Eragon and Eldest, both by Christopher Paolini) were each on the New York Times Bestsellers list. Thanks a lot!

There is no doubt that Henry James was one of the most talented lAmerican iterary icons. I really enjoyed reading his msterpieces. Dr Prance of Bostonians and Daisy are quite memorable. But I've been wondering how and why he chose such plain titles for such great books: The Bostonians, The Ambassadors, What Maisie Knew, The Portrait of a Lady, Daisy Miller, The Americans, and his autobiography is entitled simply, A Small Boy and Others. Couldn't he be a little more inventive or was he deliberately masking the gems of inside these oyster tresures? My favorite Bostonians offers brilliantly a feminist vision long before the fact. The title does not suggest any of the universal themes tackled inside the pages. Same: Daisy Miller and The Ambassadors. Any iexplanations from literary historians and/or ardent disciples of James?

I wanna know what you think of it and what you understand from it.

A flurry of colours
careened my senses
A lily among the roses
seized my eyes
Pleasantly awoken
Into an alluring fantasy of
cerulean clear and deep
tranquil and serene,
By morning rays
in elusive enamor
of submissive beauty
clearing skies of
clouding thoughts
penetrating staring eyes
Immersed in pristine
radiance so pure
as a crystal
Its peaceful presence
with elating elegance
bears gentle charm
A mind melting spring
of calm sincerity
lured my exquisite gaze
deeper into this
transcient heaven
as the portrait
delicately glides
gracefully away
beyond its frame
a feather among swans
the colour fades
but an image lingers
as an eternal memory
remnant in my ebb
to subtle sleep.
