I'm 18 and I read this book back in elementary school, I think. (maybe 5th grade). I remember the cover had bleachers on it. And you could see the sky, and I think a bike was leaning against the bleachers. The story was about a sister that lost her brother. I think his name was Marty. The brother got killed while riding his bike. The girl played soccer and she heard the ambulance go by. They had a dog that died after euthanasia, and they collected his hairs in a baggie. After the brother dies, the family is all depressed. Don't remember much else, but this used to be my favorite book. I need to know the name of the book and author, please.

I believe it is Mick Harte was Here by Barbara Park. There have been several different covers for this book, but that description fits perfectly.

What you need to do is go to your middle school and talk to the librarian... or the local public library and ask them, esp in the children's section. You'd be amazed at what those folks know...
