I like to keep a list of names handy for when I have trouble thinking of one for a character. Sadly, my list has began to dwindle lately. What are some of your favoite names?

I've been reading this book off and on for about 4 months now. The funny part is it's great but I just can't seem to finish the damn thing.

Hercule Poirot was famously the first, and to my knowledge only, fictional character to get an obituary in the New York Times. Thing is, I can't find a copy of it. Does anyone know if it's available on the web? Thanks.

Anyone got any out there...
A co-worker of mine thinks that Harry and Hermoine might be twins...James and Lily fearing an attack from Volde sent her to live with muggles...after all Lily was the brightest witch of her day and so is Hermoine...

This is just for fun so don't anyone get their panties in a bunch over this...

I am trying my hand at creative writing. I would like to know how a person would go about being published. What steps to take and what not.
Please see my latest blog entry and leave a comment to tell me what you think.

TIA

I seem to only find his political/social commentary works at Borders, and none of his linguistical works. Can anyone give me the name of the book containing this concept?

What books would you recomend a 15 year old girl?? I love horror books, comedy books, romance books, and mysterious books! Thanks

It doesn't need to be fiction, I read all kinds...The setting needs to be Britain, I think and not containing too much romance.

The man's name is Grant. I think the woman was a card dealer on the riverboat. There is a foal born that they name Shady Lady. The woman has a pet duck named Sweet Cheek. They race horses at the Kentucky Derby.

I'm asking for plots. Not "I can probably think of a few"

I want it to be kid of edgy. Revenge here and there and twists! Ideas anyone?

Americans write better contemporary crime (meaning anything set from 1950s onwards - e.g. Ed McBain, Raymond Chandler etc.)
Brits write better historical fiction (e.g. Lindsay Davis, Barbara Cleverly, Ellis Peters etc.).
