Any book you understand is a good book. You don't have to be a certain age. If you enjoy reading as much as I do you will realize this. I read all the classics that they teach in high school and college before I got out of elementary school. Now I read mostly fiction. Try Dennis McKiernan's duology INTO THE FORGE and INTO THE FIRE. James Doss writes about a 7 foot tall Ute who does part time work for his local police department and the series is quite good. In some aspects, better than Tony Hillerman's Navajo series. H. Rider Haggard's KING SOLOMON'S MINES is another good read. Comedy books if you can find them, read the entire MASH series which takes place from the Korean War like on TV and movies up to when the guys end up taking over an entire hospital in Bangor, Maine. Also any of the books by the late Daniel V. Gallery, Rear Admiral, ret. are quite good and star Fatso Gioninni and they are really funny and thought-provoking. John Dunning's Bookman series is great too. And for romance, almost every book you pick up and read has a romantic aspect to it today. Have fun and if you need to know more authors, email me with you preferences at the time and I will be happy to oblige you. Have fun.

I like books with great well developed characters I can relate to.

Currently I am reading Slaughter House Five and I'd have to say it is my favorite in a long time.

Here are some other favorites:

1. The Wold According to Garp by John Irving
2. Fire Starter by Stephen King
3. Mona Lisa Overdrive by William Gibson
4.The Stand by Stephen King
5. Jurassic Park by Michael Cricton
6. The Language of God by Francis S. Collins
7. Everything Is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer
8. Enders Game by Orson Scott Card
9. Blue Beard by Kurt Vonnegut
10. Sideways by Rex Pickett

Okay, I know this is going to sound weird, but Shakespeare has actually written a great comedy. I'm sixteen, (as of two days ago) and I REALLY liked Shakespeare's, "Much Ado About Nothing." Right now I'm reading his, "The Taming of The Shrew." I read a book by Nathanial Hawthorne called, "The Scarlet Letter." While it is a book about the effects of sin, it is also a love story. (In fact, some people see it as more of a love story.)

I hope that helped!
