Why did you find it interesting? I wonder too, How did you compose your answer, and how long did it take?

To me, the most interesting question I answered was the one about Beowulf's religious beliefs as as expressed in the epic poem.
Beowulf is my favorite epic; I like to dress up as Grendel's Mother for Halloween.
I have always considered the religious ideas expressed in the epic as interesting. The monster Grendel is said to be the descendant of Cain, the world's first murderer in the Hebrew scriptures. This idea, though it references a Judeo-Christian source, is definitely at odds with Judeo-Christian beliefs. It suggests to me that the legend of Beowulf originated before Christianity came to the region, but the poem was finished or modified afterward.
It didn't take me long to compose the answer, since it was a topic I had thought about before.

Was asked how many books I have read in my lifetime. I am 58 and have read well over 575,000 books. The answer didn't take any time at all. And I am still reading, when I am not answering emails or being here on Yahoo Answers.
