Earlier i mentioned a childrens novel i am working on that would be a series of books.

When i first thought up the idea i was thinking of doind children's picture books.. each not very long.

If you were a kid and saw these for sale. Would you rather it be in pictures (short and lots of pics) or a novel.

Paris, Rome, London, and Madrid Dissapear in nuclear fire. The world is shocked in terror at the fear that its only the beggining. But no one comes forward claiming the attacks. There are no leads as to how or why it happened.
However a space shuttle mission discoveres something very distrubing. A sattelite (kind of like Space Cowboys) is full of nuclear weapons built by the Soviet Union and hidden in the Cold War. And its malfunctioning. Now there are 6 more missiles on it and anything done wrong could launch them. No one knows their targets.

But, (and this was something i came up with later) is it a malfunction? or the work of a mad man.

I loved reading Ludlum, Sheldon, Grisham and Archer. Wodehouse of course being the all time makes-me-smile favourite. I have read a bit of Steel and Agatha Christie but mushy mushy romance or murder mysteries is not my scene. Can you please suggest a good author who I can take to, for this season ?

I was talking to my dad one time and it was right after i read "Red Storm Rising" Clancy's view on World War III between NATO and the Soviet Union.

The book was writen in 1983-84 and when it came out, my dad was on the city council for our town. One day the council was touring our town's air force base turned intelligence gathering school.

Well he had been so amazed by the book and wanted to find out some information on it, so he pulled a officer who was giving them the tour aside and asked him about the authenticity of the book.

Now keep in mind that while stealth had been a public theory for over 10 years at that time, no one outside of the militaty knew that it was in fact all ready in use.

Well the officer told him that he really couldnt answer his questions of how truthfull the book was. But a little while later (this being 6 years before we would see stealth in Iraq), the officer came back up to him. he said that he had thought it over and decided he coudl ansdwer.

I am a ameture writer, and have emailed a number of proffesional writers over the years:

Mack Maloney (WINGMAN series)
Stephen Coonts (Flight of the Intruder)
Michael Crichton (Jurrasic Park)
Michael Dimarcurio (submarine stories)

But it has always been my dream to write (and get a response from) Tom Clancy.
4 years ago, I was living in central texas and i got word that he was going to be coming to Fort Hood (huge army base) but never got confirmation in time before i moved from where i lived at the time. I missed meeting him and taking part in a contest to have dinner with Clancy.

Anyway my question is this?

Most writers have a web site and a way to contact them. Email usually. But Clancy has neither, that I am aware of.

he does have a number of fan web sites, but no direct web sites.

Does anyone know a email or contact page to Tom Clancy?

I need a quotation on the above for a book I am writing. How old does a quotation have to be before you can use it without the author's permission? Is it fifty years. Thanks?

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintainence:An inquiry into Val

What a DEEP book. It's moving if you ask me. It really gets you to question several things. The fact that it's a true account makes it that much better because the emotions are true. Some of the topics really got me to think about how it is in real life too. I love how he tells you what he's going to explain, and then he explains it, because it makes it so much easier to follow. I found the book quite entertaining and enlightening.

I'm still trying to figure out if there is any symbolism or irony in the account though. Any ideas? I'm thinking there has to be, but I just missed it

This question is only for people that have read this book. Can you please name and describe any examples of politics in this book? The only one that I can think of is The Great Saur Revolution, when the Russian gov't overthrew the Afghani monarch. Please you specific names and details, if possible. Thankyou very very much.

I am an unpublished writer who is finishing his first novel. I will submit to traditional publishers and agents, but a friend recommend that I consider self-publishing. I'd love some feedback.
