I am really looking for some good mystery novels. I love the humorous ones that are character driven not gore driven. I enjoy Agatha Christie, Lillian Jackson Braun, Tamar Myers, Diane Mott-Davidson, and Joanne Fluke. Who do you recommend next?

I like historical fiction or nonfiction..I just finished Devil in the White City, which i liked. I also like books like Joy Luck Club. You know, those kind of books that really transport you back in time and give you a feel of the age. Please recommend! Thank you!

My partner who was a writer and typesetter died five years ago. I don't know what to do with these things or even how to describe them properly. Not looking for money, just someone who is interested in these vintage pieces. I didn't know how to categorize the question!

Read Michel de Montaigne as part preparation for your semi autobiographical novel, was the advice from my tutor. The man died in 1592. Should I read anything into this? Is he losing interest in my ambition? Note- The man was also French.

so i've been writing short stories hoping to publish a book but i asked a few questions here and they say get your stuff out there first... like getting some published in magazines... which magazines? is there any way i could get them published in more popular magazines like jane, seventeen, etc. (those readers are probably my target age group)... also, being published in oprah's magazine would be a dream, anyway that's possible?
