When I was a kid ( Early ninties, or late eighties) I read a book about this circus that comes to a town that's in a drought. They have this kid who was born at midnight of halloween, and for some reason he can make it rain. Also there is a big wrestler guy who fought hercules. I think his name was anteaus. WHAT IS THE TITLE?

Well basically, JK.Rowling has written a very fine build up for the last book in the form of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, isn't it? There are questions like: How is Harry going to deal with the Horcruxes alone? Is R.A.B. going to come to the rescue? Is there going to be a last minute change regarding the Chosen One? What will be the Ultimate spell that will do IT? And whisch are the two Characters that will Die? And many other exciting factors apart from this, isn't it?

Has anybody read "I Know This Much Is True" or "Shes Come Undone" both by Wally Lamb? I really enjoyed both of these books and wonder what you thought of them?

They have tried to ban Harry Potter, Mary Poppins, and many others. I think it's wrong to take away the right to read for something stupid like claiming Harry Potter is "wicked" and "evil". If they don't want their children reading it, then don't let them. If I want to read it, I should be allowed to. These people protesting H.P. are the same ones saying Lord of the Flies is "good literature". Wtf?

My heart buzzes,
My mind is strangely calm.

If I could stay in your arms forever,
I would without doubt.

That you love me,
As I do you.

Arms of strength, of love, of securtiy,
They make me feel wonderful.

This feeling is new to me,
As it is for you.

We need to begin this road together,
Arm in arm, hearts one.

If this embrace could last,
I would make it last forever and keep it in me after forever ends.

I look in your eyes,
So loving and intense...

And feel it.
Love. The word feels right.

Sweet embrace ends,
Our bodies pull away.

Love still lingers,
Just with the ache of lonliness.

I want to return to you,
So badly it stings.

Magical moments of love don't last forever...
Oh, I wish they could.

I am just finishing up "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter" and have the choice of:

1.) My Antonia- Willa Cather
2.) A Passage to India, A Room With a View, Howard's End- E.M. Forster
3.) Moby Dick
4.) Tender is the Night- F.Scott
5.) The Gift, Glory, King, Queen, Knave, Look at the Harlequins!-Nabokov
6.) 100 Years of Solitude
7.) Catch-22

All of them interest me more or less, and I'll get to them eventually; I'm just looking for someone who has read any of them to make a case for the next one.

I have been encountering it in some of the books I've read, so far in Faulkner and Walker Percy and also Twain. Based on a wild guess, I would say that it has roots in the "visigoths?" perhaps, or at least ruling families and nobility from a feudal era.
