I'm 22 and when I was a teen I used to enjoy books by R.L.Stine. "Hide and Go Shriek" was my favorite book by him. Really got the heart pounding! I guess Steven King is my favorite as of late but I really only read Sci-fi and fantasy now.

#1: Thomas Harris, followed by Jonathan Carrol, HP Lovecraft and Poe. Stephen King's earlier novels are awesome, too. I'm 30.

I'm more of a fantasy fan and in my early 20s - My favorites are Rowling (Harry Potter), LaMontagne and Snyder (King Fortis the Brave) and Lewis (Chronicles of Narnia).
