I read it a few months ago but i dont know the name of it. Its about a girl who lives with her mom and strict grandma after her dad cheats on her mom and leaves her. Her neighbor (Jack I think) with a pregnant wife rapes her and ruins her life. The girl blows up to like 2hundred something lbs and her mom gets killed during her night job. At her college, she is ridiculed by her roomate and falls in love with her roomate's boyfriend. She ends up going to a psychiatric institution and dealing with all of her issues. She gets married, divorced, gets an abortion, her Grandma dies. Anybody know the name? Its such an inspirational story.

Friends. The word rings in my head,
Echoes like a bell toll
Us being separated haunts my dreams at night.

Friends share life, happiness, laughs.
But when we are apart, all we share are memories.
So insignificant compared to the now.

Memories, Friends.
The words echo with meaning,
As we sit looking through yearbooks, with tissues all around.

Oh, if it could stay like this forever.
Friends, good times, so simple,
Our lives all joined happily as one.

But we must move on, separate the rope that is all our lives.
We are different, now more then ever.
And now what joined us separates us.

Friends are always friends they all say.
But we must stop pretending it will be the same.
We will still be friends, hopefully sharing more then memories and tears and signatures in yearbooks.

I know that Ann. M. Martin based the characters on real people but are there people that live in Stoneybrook, Connecticut that have the same names and things?

D-Day of none

To have the blast of rifles firing
so near to my ear
Yet it sounds calm and Serene
As if whispers to hear

But to see burning bullets wisp by..
More like a conflict of art
Than the images of war.
In more ways than one, it stills my heart

To see the short-lived, deadly eruptions
Of fire and debris
The intensity shakes the earth,
-Ever silent to me.

The first and last waves of blood
From the ocean behind,
The price we've paid, we pay it still
Of crimson red, beautiful, kind.

All the soldiers charge forward
The hero's lay still
Cowards cry over their fate
The brave fight it with an iron will.

I am writing a sequel to Pride and Prejudice, but need help naming the Darcy's children. Should the son be names Charles, after Mr. Bingley, one of the girls Jane, and the other Anna. (A spinoff of Anne, Mr. Darcy's mother.) I really need help on this one. Are the names the correct time period?

I love to write and am going to write a book, I need several names though and most of them shouldn't be a modern name (like Megan, Alice, or Kelsey), names like Tamya or Ferre. Some other good names which i can't use but are good examples are some of the names from The Sword of truth series by Terry Goodkind. My favorite name in his books is Denna. If you could give me some names it would be much appreciated.

It was about a girl who survives a disaster alone. I think her name is Cassandra. Her family has a completely equipped survival shelter in the basement of their house, and she makes it into that shelter. She is exceptionally intelligent. The shelter is filled with books and anything else she would need to survive.

I thought it was by David Brin, but have not been able to find it. I would appreciate any help you can give me, the name of the book or a site that might help me find it.

I believe that when writing fiction, if you create a character that is so vile that there is no reason to like that person, you need to make the reader care about that person more and add some dimension to the character, or you risk creating one dimensional characters. You do something to make the reader feel some empathy for him. A murderer, for example is easy to despise, but you'll maybe feel bad when he is either jailed or killed because he leaves an adorable child behind who loves his daddy and does not how evil he is. And, he also leaves behind a wife who is unable to care for this child and pay the rent, etc.
How do you make the reader connect with the evil ones in your stories so that they are not one dimensional beings which can be crushed like cockraches without a second thought? Or, do you like purely evil characters?
