You can't know if it will be taken seriously. But, most serious questions posted seem to get many serious answers. Most of the time it seems as if only the immature questions get immature answers.

The answer is: You won't know, unless you can accurately predict the future. I am very picky about the questions I answer---I just don't do it to get the points. I always try to give a serious answer even if there are people that are answering that particular question that don't. And when I do answer a question I try to back it up with the resource websites I used to arrive at that answer, if applicable.

You don't know, but the best bet is to ask a serious question that you really want to know the answer to. You will probably still get some smarta$$ who will blow your answer off, but when you ask your question in a way that sounds like you are being a smart mouth, you might as well expect to get the same type of answers.

As with life, there are no guarantees on this board. Post a serious question and expect to get some serious answers. You may have your ration of smart a$$ answers, but everyone is entitled to an opinion. Take a chance, what do you have to lose?

You have to see if you get serious answers. I have answered seriously and gotten serious answers. The answers are not from professional people, just normal everyday people. They can give you advice, or just simply tell you an answer to something you didn't know.

Start by asking REAL questions that have REAL answers. Also if you are over 10 it is easier to think of good questions. Why don't you just wait till then?

Sometimes even stupid answers are good because then it is easier to find the right answer. But yea, you should be able to tell between a serious answer and a "not serious" answer.

That's for you to decide. Obviously, some answers will be sarcastic, but you can weed through those.
